Community at William Lane
We work with a number of
community based organisations such as
councils, schools, colleges and churches.
For example: we produced a
full set of War Memorial Plaques cast in
bronze for Hartlepool Council.
We work with various
Preservation Trusts, there are many examples
of our work on HMS Warrior, at Beamish
Museum and The National Railway Museum.
The landmark Transporter Bridge, is driven
on our bearings, we
refurbished the bell, made the name plaque
and produced limited edition artistic
castings to celebrate it’s centenary.
The Foundry produced the
replica Middlesbrough Loco Plaque that hangs
proudly in the players tunnel on the way to
the pitch at the Riverside Stadium.
We were also commissioned to
produce the Tourist Street Signs in
Newcastle and bollards in Durham City
Centre.
We are acutely aware of our place in
Middlesbrough’s Industrial Heritage and
positively encourage engagement with the
community
:
We open our doors to the Discover
Middlesbrough programme, our visits are
always fully subscribed and we get great
feedback from the Public and the Council.
We have close ties with The Heritage Skills
Initiative, we exhibit at their Skill
Festivals and host the Bursary Students in
the Foundry.
We work with local Schools
sometimes on an educational basis but also
on projects with Pupils.
