Railway and Steam
William Lane has worked on many railway and traction engine projects over the years, and still works with many Heritage Railway Line Operators on an ongoing basis.
Components for the rebuild of Puffing Billy and the Steam Elephant at Beamish were produced in the foundry, as well as repair-work on the Flying Scotsman at the National Railway Museum, and also a number of parts for the recently completed Tornado in Darlington.
Seats, signs, lamps and wrought ironwork for stations and platforms are made to match historic fixtures and fittings.
We regularly make brake blocks and fire bars amongst other consumables and axle boxes, wheels, bearings and valves.
We are making full sets of castings for new build replica traction engines that include complex cylinder blocks, wheel & axle parts, and crankshaft components.
